The Best SEO Companies in Nigeria (2026):
8 Firms, One Honest Ranking
I applied five criteria to every firm on this list, including my own. Here’s what the Nigerian SEO market actually looks like when you strip away the claims, the guarantees, and the client logos nobody can verify.
Every “best SEO companies in Nigeria” list you’ve read before this one was probably written by one of the companies on it. The ranking system is simple: pay for inclusion, write something that sounds rigorous, put yourself at number one. Readers don’t know any different because they’re not in the industry.
I am in the industry. That makes this list both more useful and more conflicted. I have skin in the game, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise.
Full disclosure: UGO Anums Consulting appears on this list at number one. I applied the same five criteria to my own practice that I applied to everyone else, including a weakness I’d rather not advertise. If the framework is honest, the ranking should hold up under scrutiny. If it doesn’t, you’ll see that too.
The Five Criteria I Used
I spent time on every firm’s website, checked third-party review platforms including Clutch and Sortlist, read publicly available case studies where they existed, and looked at each firm’s own SERP performance as a real-world test of their capabilities. I applied five criteria that a founder — not an SEO professional — would use to evaluate an agency before writing a cheque.
Verifiable past results. Not numbers on a website anyone can fabricate. A Clutch review with outcome data, a named person at a named company on a third-party platform, or a client contact verifiable on LinkedIn and reachable for a reference. Self-authored press releases distributed to media outlets are not independent verification. Case studies published on the agency’s own website, no matter how detailed, are not independent verification. This is the hardest criterion to meet and the most important one.
Revenue-first thinking. Do they ask what a converted visitor is worth to your business before they mention keywords or rankings? An agency that optimises for pageviews while your revenue stays flat has failed you regardless of what the dashboard shows. This criterion looks at whether their published language and documented client outcomes connect SEO to business results, not just traffic metrics. I’ve written about this specific failure mode in detail.
Honest timelines. Will they tell you what’s realistic before you sign — and explain why — or do they promise first-page rankings in 30 days to close the deal? The answer is a proxy for technical competence. Firms that understand the work know why timelines are what they are. Firms that don’t, promise whatever closes the deal.
Client validation. What do actual clients say about the SEO work specifically, and can it be independently verified? Clutch-verified reviews with specific SEO outcomes are the gold standard. Named testimonials from people whose identities can be confirmed at real companies are credible but self-curated. Anonymous reviews are a lower bar. Generic praise with no verifiable identity attached tells you almost nothing.
Accountability. What do you actually receive each month, and what does the contract look like? Outcome reports tied to business metrics versus vanity dashboards full of graphs that don’t connect to revenue. Month-to-month agreements versus 12-month lock-ins that trap you before you’ve seen a single result. An agency confident in its work does not need to lock you in before demonstrating it.
“The question to ask every firm before you sign: show me a client who was where I am now. What did you do, and where are they today?”
One tiebreaker applies across this list. Where two firms score equally, documented revenue outcomes outrank documented traffic outcomes. Moving traffic is an SEO result. Moving revenue is the job. If you want to understand what Google’s ranking signals actually are — not the SEO blog version but what Google’s own SVP confirmed under oath in a federal courtroom — I’ve broken that down here. It will help you evaluate every firm you speak with.

1. UGO Anums Consulting
I’ll stay with what’s publicly verifiable. Five case studies are published with specific numbers: a 24,900% increase in organic traffic for a crypto exchange over six months, a 1,002% increase in users reaching checkout for a Samsung e-commerce partner, a $3 cost-per-acquisition for paying B2B SaaS customers on $250/month ad spend (37x ROI), a 5x improvement in signup-to-customer conversion rate through commercial-intent landing pages, and 185+ paid conversions from two behavioral trigger campaigns generating 15x return on N2.1M total cost. The range matters. This is not five ways to say “traffic went up.” It is documented evidence across SEO, CRO, paid social, conversion strategy, and email/lifecycle marketing.
The practice is built on a single principle that most agencies in this market ignore: every channel is a conversion job. There is no point ranking a high-intent keyword if the page those visitors land on doesn’t convert them, no point running ads if the funnel leaks at sign-up, and no point generating leads if no behavioural trigger exists to close them. Every engagement establishes what success means in revenue terms before tactics are chosen. David James at 1o8 in the US explicitly references managing and growing multiple brands organically. That testimonial is verifiable and SEO-specific. The full argument for why SEO and CRO are inseparable is here.
The gap in public evidence is real. No Clutch profile. No third-party platform reviews yet. You are trusting the published numbers until you can speak to a reference directly. That is a legitimate friction point.
If you want to pressure-test the numbers or ask for a client reference directly, the discovery call is free. If after that call we’re not a fit, I’ll tell you which firm on this list is — and why.
2. Osoria Digital
Of all the firms on this list, Osoria has the most structured external evidence trail for SEO work. Cory Heil’s Clutch review documents a full engagement — audit, on-page work, keyword research, link building, and regular reporting — with a 57% traffic increase and more qualified leads in five months. That is independently verified. Yomi Samson, MSBM’s Head of Marketing, is named in their EdTech case and is verifiable on LinkedIn. He states directly that the engagement contributed to their best quarter ever. Those are specific business outcomes from verifiable people.
The 90-day money-back guarantee is the boldest contractual commitment in this market. An agency willing to refund you if they don’t deliver is either confident in their process or hoping most clients won’t follow through on the claim. That is worth pressure-testing in the discovery call: what exactly triggers the guarantee, what doesn’t, and what does “increase online visibility” mean in measurable terms with a number attached.
Their own SERP presence is real. They rank for competitive Nigerian SEO terms. An SEO firm that can’t rank its own website is worth questioning. Osoria’s visibility confirms they’re running the play themselves. The limitation is that their most prominent results — Luxe Dental’s 1,008% traffic growth — are self-authored and self-distributed. The underlying work may be excellent. But ask for client references outside the press release circuit.
3. Flyserp Digital
The most honest thing Flyserp says about themselves is that their entire client base came through ranking on Google, not through paid ads or referrals. If that is true, it is a stronger proof of SEO capability than most agencies on this list can offer. You are not looking at a claim. You are looking at a consequence of the actual work.
Published pricing and a no-contract model are genuinely uncommon in this market. Most agencies in Lagos use opacity on pricing and 12-month lock-ins as client retention tools. Flyserp has removed both. An agency that can be fired any month is either very confident in their results or very good at managing client relationships. Their client retention likely depends on both.
The founding year is the honest constraint. 2021 means they have not operated through a prolonged Google algorithm cycle at scale. Their portfolio shows client names but no numbers. Before committing, ask for specific traffic growth or lead figures tied to a named client. If they can answer that with specifics, they belong higher on your personal shortlist.
4. CKDigital
CKDigital’s most credible argument is their track record: thirteen years, Vitafoam, Red Star Express, CFA Society Nigeria, and Abbey Mortgage Bank as named retained clients, with five-year relationships documented. Five-year client retention in any professional services business is meaningful evidence. Clients do not stay five years because the work doesn’t deliver.
The performance guarantee deserves attention: they won’t charge you if they can’t rank you where they promised. That is a stronger accountability commitment than most agencies will put in writing. Colin McCreadie at Fantast Fives in the UK — the one verifiable SEO-specific testimonial on record — states directly that they climbed Google rankings. That is one data point from a named, verifiable person at a named company.
The honest limitation is structural. SEO is one service in a wide portfolio, not the primary mandate. If you are a large organisation that needs SEO integrated within a broader digital programme, CKDigital is one of the more credible options in this market. If you need a specialist with organic search as the primary deliverable, look at the entries above them first. The absence of published SEO numbers after 13 years is not a data gap. It is a signal.
5. Crank Digital
Crank Digital’s clearest differentiator under honest evaluation is that they tell you the truth about timelines before you ask. “3 to 6 months, depending on your industry, competition, and website history” is published in their FAQ. In a market where agencies routinely promise first-page results in 30 days to close the deal, stating the honest timeline publicly is a signal worth noting. It also suggests genuine understanding of how the work actually functions.
They rank for their own target keywords. Consistent organic presence over multiple years in a competitive SERP requires real SEO competence. You cannot fake a sustained position for “SEO company Lagos” without doing the actual work. That is evidence of capability. What it does not confirm is whether that competence transfers to client campaigns in your specific sector.
The published evidence trail is where the questions begin. One SEO testimonial from a named client out of three on the site. The Gmail contact address for a professional agency is a presentation detail that invites questions about what else might be informal about the operation. Before engaging Crank Digital, ask specifically for client references in industries similar to yours and press for the numbers they moved, not just the keywords they ranked.
6. Tagetmedia
Tagetmedia’s two strongest attributes are the simplest: they tell you honest timelines before you sign, and they are the most transparent on price of any firm on this list at their tier. In a market where opacity on both is standard practice, that matters. A founder who wants to know what they are paying and what to realistically expect will get both answers from Tagetmedia before the conversation gets complicated.
They hold an organic ranking for competitive Nigerian SEO search terms. Getting and maintaining a position in a SERP that includes Clutch and Nive Digital requires genuine competence. Their case study — 8,000+ traffic for a lottery website in four months — is plausible within their documented niche expertise. The client is unnamed and cannot be independently verified.
The honest limitation is that their documented SEO competence is concentrated in specific low-competition niches: music promotion, lottery, and entertainment. Those are real industries but they are not representative of the SEO challenges in fintech, healthcare, real estate, or e-commerce. Unless your sector is music or entertainment, the entries above this one have more relevant track records for your context.
7. Nive Digital
Nive Digital ranks for “best SEO company in Nigeria” and “seo expert in nigeria” organically. That is genuine SERP performance in a competitive market. Sustained rankings for those terms require real understanding of how to do the work. It is evidence of capability for their own site. The question is whether that extends to client campaigns.
The no-contract model is a meaningful commitment. An agency that will not lock you into 12 months is signalling that they expect to earn retention, not compel it. The content Nive publishes — covering EEAT, schema, and crawl architecture — suggests genuine technical understanding beneath the surface. But capability and documented client results are different things.
The public validation gap is the entire story. The Google review profile is almost entirely students and interns at NiveDigital Academy, not businesses that hired them for SEO work. Before engaging them, the question is simple: can you show me a client who hired you for SEO, where they were before, what you did, and where they are now? If they can answer that with specifics and a verifiable contact, they belong higher on this list.
8. Elvis Ekoigiawe
Elvis holds a position-three ranking for “seo expert in nigeria” on a personal brand site. That is a real, competitive SERP position reached without an agency structure behind it. The ranking is the only externally verifiable evidence of SEO capability on his public profile, but it is meaningful evidence. You cannot hold that position in a market this active without understanding how the work actually functions.
The technical breadth is genuine. WordPress security, web development, and SEO together mean he can see the full technical picture of a client’s site rather than just the content layer. In a market where most practitioners only touch on-page optimisation, that is a real differentiator in capability. Whether that capability is applied to client mandates with the same rigour it was applied to his own site is the unanswered question.
The evidence gap is the entire story. Fifteen-plus years claimed. Zero Clutch reviews. No named client outcomes on any public platform. No published pricing. One anonymous on-site testimonial. Before paying any solo consultant, you should be able to see at least two or three specific client outcomes with verifiable numbers. The SERP ranking shows personal SEO capability. It does not confirm he can replicate that for your business, your sector, your timeline, and your budget.
If you’re comparing SEO firms, start with a call before you commit to anyone on this list.
I’ll tell you honestly whether we’re a fit. If we’re not, I’ll tell you which firm on this list is better suited to your situation and why. No pitch, no pressure.
